GAF offers a tiered system of limited warranties — from the standard coverage that comes with every purchase, all the way up to the industry-leading Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty, which is only available through GAF Master Elite® contractors like Eagle's Landing General Contracting.

GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty (Standard) The baseline coverage that comes automatically with every qualifying GAF shingle purchase. No registration required — just keep your proof of purchase. Covers manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the roof (as long as the original owner owns the home) with a 10-year Smart Choice® non-prorated protection period.
System Plus Limited Warranty Requires GAF shingles plus at least 3 qualifying accessory products, installed by a GAF Certified contractor or higher. Extends the Smart Choice® non-prorated period from 10 years to 50 years and adds tear-off coverage when necessary. Requires registration by your contractor.
Silver Pledge™ Limited Warranty Requires GAF shingles plus at least 4 qualifying accessory products, installed by a GAF Certified Plus or Master Elite contractor. Includes everything in System Plus, plus 10 years of workmanship coverage and disposal costs when necessary. Requires registration.
Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty GAF's highest residential warranty. Requires GAF shingles plus at least 5 qualifying accessory products, installed exclusively by a GAF Master Elite contractor — the top 3% of all roofers in the U.S. Includes everything in Silver Pledge, plus 25 years of workmanship coverage (30 years on Timberline UHDZ® shingles), disposal, and comprehensive protection for the full roofing system. Requires registration.

During your consultation, we'll help you select the combination of shingles and accessory products that qualifies you for the coverage level you want — and we handle the warranty registration with GAF directly after installation is complete.
Most roofing contractors can only offer the standard GAF warranty or, at most, a System Plus. The Silver Pledge™ and Golden Pledge® — GAF's most comprehensive warranties — are reserved exclusively for contractors who have earned and maintained GAF's highest certification levels.

The standard GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty requires no registration — just keep your proof of purchase. Enhanced warranties (System Plus, Silver Pledge™, and Golden Pledge®) do require registration, but Eagle's Landing handles that process for you after installation is complete. You should receive your warranty documentation within 60 days.
"Lifetime" means the warranty covers you for as long as you — the original owner — own the home where the shingles are installed. For a second owner, coverage continues if the warranty was properly transferred during the Smart Choice® Protection Period. Note: for non-residential or commercial properties, "Lifetime" is defined as 40 years.
This is the non-prorated phase of your warranty — the period during which GAF pays 100% of covered replacement costs without reducing for depreciation or time. After this period, settlements are prorated based on how long the shingles have been in service. Extended Smart Choice® periods (up to 50 years) are a major benefit of enhanced warranties.
Workmanship coverage protects you if your roof develops a problem caused by an installation error — not just a manufacturing defect in the shingles themselves. Silver Pledge™ includes 10 years of workmanship coverage; Golden Pledge® provides 25 years (30 years on Timberline UHDZ®). Only GAF-certified contractors can offer this coverage.
Yes. All GAF enhanced warranties are transferable to a second owner. To transfer, email ccp@gaf.com with your name, address, and property transfer date, along with proof of sale. Transferring during the Smart Choice® Protection Period gives the new owner the full remaining coverage.
Coverage is voided by conditions unrelated to manufacturing defects — including improper ventilation, damage from weather events, structural issues, or modifications made by non-certified contractors after installation. GAF also requires that adequate ventilation be installed at the time of roofing — Eagle's Landing addresses ventilation as part of every roofing system.
It depends on your goals. If you want baseline protection, the standard warranty covers manufacturing defects for the life of the roof. If you want longer non-prorated coverage, System Plus is the step up. If installation workmanship matters to you — and it should — Silver Pledge™ or Golden Pledge® are the right choice. Golden Pledge® is ideal for homeowners who want the most complete protection available and are in high-wind or hail-prone areas like North Texas.
